Black Pepper Beef

Ingredients

• Marinade

• 1/2 tbsp soy sauce

• 1/2 tbsp Shaoxing wine (or mirin, dry sherry, water)

• 1/4 black pepper

• 1/2 tbsp cornstarch

• 1/2 tbsp neutral oil

• Main

• Steak (chuck flap, sirloin, etc.)

• 1/2 green onion

• 1-2 garlic cloves

• 1 tsp grated ginger

• 1/4 yellow onion

• 1/2 green bell pepper

• 1/2 red bell pepper

• 1 tbsp neutral oil, divided

• 1/2 tsp toasted sesame oil

• 1/4-1/2 tsp black pepper

• Stir Fry Sauce

• 1 tbsp soy sauce

• 1 tsp dark soy sauce (optional)

• 1 tbsp oyster sauce

• 1/2 tsp sugar

• 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine (or mirin, dry sherry, water)

• 1/2 tsp chicken bouillon powder

• 1/2 tbsp cornstarch slurry

Directions

1. Marinate Beef Slice beef into bite-sized pieces. Marinate in the fridge for 10 minutes.

2. Slice green onion, chop garlic, grate ginger, and cut onions and peppers into squares.

3. Sauté beef (1-2 minutes per side)

4. Remove from pan.

5. Stir-Fry Veggies Heat remaining oil. Char onions, then add green onion, garlic, and ginger. Cook for 30 seconds. Add bell peppers, stir-fry for 1-2 minutes.

6. Prepare sauce.

7. Combine Add beef and sauce. Finish with sesame oil and pepper. Serve over rice.
